Notes from Apertium
- "Entries in this language's own dictionary" and "entries in dictionaries shared with a partner language" are kept separate and should not be added together: a bilingual dictionary entry is a translation correspondence between two languages, not a lexical entry belonging to just this one, and the same correspondence is counted again under the partner language.
- A language appearing in a translation-pair repository is not evidence that Apertium supports translation in both directions for that pair -- check bidirectional_evidence upstream before assuming symmetry.
- A listed language pair is evidence that a repository exists for it, not evidence of translation quality or how complete the dictionaries and transfer rules are.
- Dictionary entry counts are aggregated in this converter directly from Apertium's per-repository data (repositories.csv), not from the harvester's own languages.csv -- that file's aggregation step misclassifies monolingual dictionaries as bilingual and reports zero entries for every language. See the script docstring for details.
